HARBOUR BOARD GRIDIRON.

At the usual meeting of the Harbour Board this afternoon bhe following petition was, read, signed by eight licensed watermen ot the port:—"We, the undersigned licensed watermen of Auckland beg to request that you will provide a gridiron to enable us to clean and paint our boats. The spot given for our use is in bhe firsb place too far from our duby, and is quibe a sea of mud ab times. On several occasions, when bhe place has been used for painting some mischievous individuals have used bhe mud to garnish our boats after painting. We would also respectfully request thab some place of safeby for <jur boats in bad weather be provided.^
