MATA GOLD MINING COMPANY (LIMITED).
Yesterday after noon the shareholders in the Mata Gold Mining Company (Limited) held their first annual meeting at Mr F. A. "White's office, Queen-streeb. Mr J. Friar Clarke presided. The report of the directors was read as follows: — "In compliance with the Company's Articles of Association your directors have much pleasure in. presenting the balance - sheeb and mine manager's report for the past twelve months. From these you will see •what work has been done during this period, and we fcrusb the same will sufficiently explain the working of the Company. Your directors regret nob having been able to meet you with a more satisfactory balance-sheet, but that has- been solely oa account of nob having been able to get the stuff crushed". At this meeting the whole of the directors retire, bat Messrs J. F. Clarke, T. Melrose, .3ame3 JVlacky, M. McMahon, and Peter Hansen, being eligible, offer themselves for re-election.— For the directors, J. Friar Clarke, Chairman."
The mine manager's report detailed the work doneln the mine during the year, and 6 bated that the prospects of the mine were fair.
The balance-sheet showed that the' expenditure for the past year had been £530 6s 4d, and the receipts for gold, &c, £49 18a 6d. There is still a good quantity of picked stone on hand awaiting treatment, which has not hitherto been done, owing to the scarcity of water. The reports and balance-sheet were adopted, and Messrs J. F. Clarke, P. C. Hanaen, T. .Melrose, J. Mack ay, and W. Bailey were elected director.-. Mr It. G. Macky was appointed auditor for the ensuing year. _____™ ra ™
