S.lß,—Authorities must now put on 20 o r 30 men to work in Ponsonby, without the loss of another day. Stinke are hovering over the place; Thursday and Friday WPrsO sod worse. Fevers are raging. Reports ordered to ceaso, to avoid fright. The evil oan be remedied ! Substitute underground pipe Hewers for tho wretched surface drainage, Bad matter is now festering in the open, and eomo big chimney is belching a stench. Now for means; — Advance the three years' money allotted by Council as portion allocated to the ward. No difficulty, and invention of objections disallowed. Talk mutt stQp,, T Ca§e. Ie urgent. No time to lose, or perhaps cholera mdrbas next soon. —I am, etc,, Concerned Resident.
