PORT ALBERT.

Our Port Albert correspondent writes : A meeting of the Agricultural Society was he*d at Mr J. Becroffc's, junr., on Thursday. T/jo secretary reported that there was a balance to the credit of the Society of £10, 'as a result of the late show. Several members expressed, their opinion that the show had been a complete success. The next meeting of the Society will be held ab Mr D. Becrofts, May sth. It cannoty be otherwise than gratifying to Mr LH. Exley to witness the very cordial reception he has received on again visiting this settlement. On Friday i air Exley preached', in the Wesleyan chapel, and the Wesleyaras showed a liberal and kindly spirit in this matter. On Monday Mr Exley lectured in the Temperance Hall on "Milton and Cromwell." The lecture was frequently applauded, and on the motipn of the Chairman, Mr J. Coupland, a. vo.tej Of thanks was passed by acclamation.
