(by telegraph—own correspondent.)

Hamilton, this day.

Hamilton had a narrow escape from a big fire thia morning-. A shed at the rear of Mr Garriglo's, in Victoria-street, waa burned down, and but for willing assistance the whole block, including Mr Garrigle's store, Hyde's (tinsmith), New Zealand Tweed Co.'s Branch, Pair's (late Cooperative), and another shop, would have been destroyed. Little water was available, but fortunately there was no wind. Great excitement prevailed during the outbreak.
