The civil.sittings commonced at 2 o'clock to day, when the following business was transacted i —
Eiinest Joiin Fhknoii v. Jackson KeDuel.—Buit for £3!! 8s lid, amount of judgment received in tho Corotnandel R.M. Court. — Mr Burton for plaintiff, and ;Mr Aloxander for defendant,—By agreement judgment was given for the amount claimed., to be payed in monthly Instalments of £5. In the ovent of instalmonts not boing paid, judgmont for tho full amount to bo recordod.
RoitEBT Johnston v. John Cane. — Claim for poseesaion of cortain land.— Blr Mahonoy for plaintiff, and Mr Cotter defendant.— Mr Cotter eaid that tho defendant had confeesod judgment, costs woro allowed at the lowost scale.
, John Kinh v, JAMES Nicuor..—Claim for £37 18s (id, tho amount of a disputed p n,—Mr Hugh Campboll appeared for tho plaintiff. John king doposod that tho defendent was indebted to him upon tho I. N. produced for £24, and intoreßt at 8 por cent ; total amount, £37 18a (jd. — His Honor gave judgment for the plaintiff for tho full amount claimed, with costs.
DIVORCE CASE,
In tho case of George Broadfoot (potitioner) v. Elizabeth Broadfoot (respondent) and William Atwell (co respondent) Mr Itjahoney applied that tho docroox™ should be mado absolute. Tho usual affidavit and other necessary documents were handed in. His Honor accordingly mado the decree absolute. The Court wns then adjourned until 10 o'clock to-morrow morning.
