FATAL FIRE AT NAPIER.
Two Met- Burned to Death.

Napier, this day. Fike broke out in a small house noar the | Catholic School, in Shakespeare JRoad, at I 1 o'clock this morning. The house was occupied by a family riat-cd Teehon _s _ boarding house for labourer,. The back of the dwelling was discovered to be on fire by a passer-by, who, failing to rouse the inmates, ran to the nearest firebell and gave the alarm. Doth (ho Town aud Spit Brigades wero quickly at tbo scene, but by that time the houso was gutted and wrapped in flames Tho fire, however, was confined to one dwelling. As soon as pos- 4. sible an entrance was effected, when the worst fears wero realised, as the bodies of two men f..arfully mutilated were discovered •■ •";'' huddled together. Ooe body was rocog--' nifed as that of the proprietor, and the otheras that of a labourer named Kelly.Mrs . Teehon and her two children left town on a visit to friends in tho country yesterday, ■ and both men had been drinking ovor night-. An inquest takes place this afternoon. The insurances are : -London and Lancashire, i £100 en the building.
