Devonport.
The annual meeting of householders was hold in the school-room, Devonport, at 7.30 on Monday evening, the 20th January, 1885. About 20 householders were present. Mr T. L. White, Chairman of the outgoing Committee, was voted to the chair, and after stating to the meeting thathehad great pleasure in informing them that the school had made rapid strides both in numbers and efficiency under the Headmaatership of Mr Alfred Benge, ho called upon the Secretary (Mr W. H. Francis) to read the report and balance-fhcet. The report and balance-sheet having been adopted, the Chairman called upon the meeting to elect a new Committee for the ensuing year, when the following were nominated and declared to bo duly elected : —Messrs Hooker, Tanfield, Lankham, Peacock, Tanner, .Tervis, and Burnett. Mr Hooker was elected Chairman of the new Committee. The Rev. J. Bates and Messrs Mays, White, and Alison declined to act on the new Committee. A cordial vote of thanks was accorded to the Head-master for the efficient manner in which he had conducted the school during the past year. A vote of thanks to the Chairman and the outgoing Committee closed the proceedings.
