Taukanga, this day. Intellicenck has just been received hero from Mr G. Vesey Stewart that ho has arranged for the sale of tho railway contract to a syndicate in London. Tho construction of tho railway to the Lakes is therefore certain. Tho s.s. Northumber-
land, 2,000 tons, has been laid on for Auckland direct with settlers for Tauranga, sailing on September 25th, and immediately after a sailing vessel of 000 tons, now loading, will leave direct for Tauranga with railway plant and navvies and tbeir families.
