Further communications have recently passed between the Turkish Government and Lord Dufferin, with reference to the proposed military convention for the pacification of Egypt. The Porto has now informed the British Ambassador that it accepts the Convention, and has agreed to proclaim Arabia rebel against the Imperial Government.
British, Attack on Kafra&owar.
ALEXANDRIA, August 28,
General Hamloy, commanding a strong force of British troops, advanced upon Kafradowar yesterday (Sunday), and opened fire with his artillery upon the enemy's entrenched camps. The enemy s return fire was of tho feeblest description, and it is believed that Arabi has withdrawn the bulk of bis troops from Kafradowar. Indian native Cavalry at Suez.
ALEXANDRIA, August 28,
A detachment of Bengal nativo cavalry has arrived at Suez, and has been despatched to the front. Sir Garnet Repairs the Railway.
ALEXANDRIA, August 28,
Sir Gamut Wolseley has repaired the railway between lamailia and Haemses, and the intermediate country is now fully occupied by British troops.
