IMPORTANT LAND SALE.
A MOST important auction sale o suburban property took place to-day, at Dowden's Auction Mart, Mr Greenwood being the auctioneer. There was a good attendance, and though the .bidding was not brisK at the opening, bfifore the close it became very spirited. The properties disposed of were the Avondale Estate, the property of Mr D. Aickin, eight lots at Elicrslie, and a parcel of 27 acres at Waikomiti. The following is a detailed account of the result :—

Ellsksue.—lot 1, 30a per foot, Willis; 2 and 3, 22s per foot, "Willis j 4, 20a per foot, Smith ; 5,19a per foot, Willis; 6 and 7s, 21s per toot, Jones and Pollard ; 13,13s per foot, Willis, The' remainder did not reach expectations,'and is held over for private sale. Lots 1, 2, and 3 have a frontage to Panmure Road. The 27-acro lot at Waikomiti was purchased by Mr Buttcrworth for £3 per acre.
