THE HAMILTON BRASS BAND.
The Hamilton baud, though but recently formed, is expected to burst out in full harmony in a few days, and delight the public of Hamilton with nuisie from instruments purchased only a few weeks by public subscription. On Wednesday evening the members of the infantry corps (Captain O'Neill) will march round the town. The Land will meet at the Hamilton Hotel and play the Volunteers round the township, led by Instructor Simms. Citizens and residents are requested to show their appreciation of the efforts of their local bandsmen by liberally contributing toward the band fund, as tliere is still a certain amount of money required, and contributions given at the present time will be higlily appreciated. The band will prove a great source of enjoyment to the community, and is deserving of the fullest support. The members had some difficulty in finding a suitable place to meet for practice, but Mr Gwynne has kindly placed a suitable building at their disposal, and, stimulated by the encouragement received, the members spend all spare time in practice, and the Hamilton air resounds with the din of musical instruments, from Mr Munro's big drum to Master E. Gwynne's cymbals. The following are the members of the band .—James Simms, Ist clarionette; George Williams, Ist comet (silver); Allen, 2nd do.; J. W.
