CITY BALL. A grand musical and dramatic entertainment will be given this evening in the City Hall, and £20 worth of jewellery given away. The entertainment will consist of Charles Matthew's " Satanella," in which a number of old familiar faces will appear, to conclude with a musical treat, in which Miss Beatrice lister will sing several popular songa. MATNAED'3 VARIETY TEOTJPE. "We notice that a " big" entertainment will be given this evening in the Prince of Wales Theatre. The character of the entertainment will be seen on the large bills. Excitement, fan, and amusement is promised. Mr Barney Eyan, the Irish Comedian will appear In song* and dances. Harry Winchoomb will sing a new comic song, and have a set to with Mr Davison. tVe champion boxer. The snake-boy will perform hia boneless feats Barney and Tom will do the step dance which was bo much admired by lovers of the'art in Melbourne. Miss Parker and Mr Maynard, and Miss Fanny Travera, and others, will add to the interest of the occasion, and brighten with their presence the hitherto solitary boards of the *rince of Wales Theatre.
