The barquentine Prince Alfred came in from the South late last night. Captain Sopwith reports that he left Lytteltbn Heads on November Ist., at 8 p.m. Had strong ■winds, varying from N. E. to N. The brigantine Coronet has been laid alongside the ship City of Auckland for the purpose of transhipping her island cargo of cotton and copra for conveyance to London. Captain Snepherd not having been able to secure a customer for the Chicola's cargo of barley (though several offers have been made for the vessel,) will leave on Saturday for Sydney. The ship Zealandia, having taken in her ballast, moved out of her berth at the wharf this morning and anchored in the stream. Her destination still remains uncertain. Difficulties having arisen in the way of the barque Pasithea being loaded here for New York, it has been mutually agreed upon by Messrs Arnold, Hines and Co, and the agents of the vessel, to cancel the charter. The Pasithea under the fresh arrangement proceeds to Valparaiso, while the Auckland firm have chartered the fine barque Stanley Castle to ship their gum to New York. The entire cargo is waiting to be put on board, so that as soon as the Stanley Castle has put out her London cargo, she will have quick dispatch. The barque Kohinoor cleared out in ballast for Kaipara this morning. The Elm Grove has cleared in ballast for Newcastle. The sails of the Falcon were sent on board this morning from the sail making establishment of Captain H. F. Anderson and Co. The s.s. Southern Cross came in last evening, from Tauranga, with the following passengers : -Major Wood, Capt. Fotheringay, Mrs. Daveron, Mrs. Howard, Messrs. Davenport, Ward, Moss, Well, Swan, Horsbnrgh, Simpkins, Firth, Wrigley, J. Wrigley, and Vlolloway. The s.s. St Kilda brought up as passengers yesterday: Mrs. Watt, Mr. and Mrs. J. Durie, and Major Nixon. The Prince Alfred was hauled alongside the wharf this morning, and commenced discharging at once. The Prince Alfred, after discharging, is to proceed to the Thames to load for the South. The brig Pakeha, on completion of her repairs, will sail in ballast to Wangaroa, where she will load for Dunedin. The schooner Amaranth, which'sailed from the Manukau early this morning, took a cargo of bricks and general merchandise to the Kaipara. The schooner Julius Vogel left this morning for Napier, and is to ship 36,000 feet of timber at Mercury Bay. The City of Melbourne, with the San Francisco English mail, was due in Sydney about the Bth insfc. It is very probable that the Wonga Wonga would be datained for her arrival. In that case we are likely to see her about Sunday. The whale oil from the Albion was purchased by Messrs. L. D. Nathan and Co. Most of it will be shipped by the Wonga to Sydney. The schooner Dauntless (topsail) has been brought over from the Gore-street jetty to the main wharf to receive her bonded, goods before leaving for Norfolk Island and New Caledonia.
