SUPREME COURT.—Civil Sessions.

Yesterday.— (Continued.) Special Jury Case. C. A. HARKIH V. J. S. MACFARLANE. William Wright and James Edwards gave evidence relative to the damage done to thecreek by defendant's driving, and also stated that the canal was cut on plaintiffs land. C. A. Harris, junr., and C. A. Harris, senr., gave evidence regarding the ownership of the plaintiff. The former also deposed that between two or three acres of land had , been washed away by defendant driving logs down the creek. It would take several thousands of pounds to put the creek mas good a state as it was before. It cost Is per 100 feet more to get the timber out of Hikutawatawa than it did before. Mr Rees put in an' affidavit by Hugh Craigi and John Richmond ; also the Crown grant to the property held by the natives and the conveyance to Mr Harris. This concluded plaintiff's case, and the Court adjourned until to-day.
