ASSERTION.
To the Editor of the EVENING Stab. g lE> _lf Mr E. B. Shalders did not twice sign the late petition to the Justices as he alleges, all I can say is that it is a remarkably clever imitation of his handwriting. Before that gentleman reiterates his denial I would recommend him to'step over to the Police Court and ask the Magistrate's clerk to allow him to see the petition, and if he then turns to sheets 1 and 25 he will coincide with my remark. —I am, &c, One who ius seen the Petition.
