CONSOLIDATION OF SCHOOLS
MEETINGS AT TAKAMATUA AND ROBINSON'S BAY «—— Takamatua School to Close Mr C. S. Thomson, chairman, and Mr W. Spencer, member ,of the Canterbury Education Board, attended meetings of householders at Takamatua and Robinson's Bay on Saturday night to consider the question of consolidation. At the Takamatua meeting, Mr E. Glynan presided and it was decided almost unanimously to close the school and send their children to Akaroa. The attendance at Takamatua is 11 or 12 pupils. At the Robinson's Bay meeting the householders were not unanimoulsy in favour of consolidation. Mr Jos. Hayward presided. The committee is now waiting for a report from the Education Board. The roll at Robinson's Bay is at present 10.
