Another Red Cross Social was held in Duvauchelle Hall on Friday last which was a great success both socially and financially. Various parcels left over from the Carnival were made up in surprise parcels and auctioned by Mr T. W. Wilkins realising £19 17s. Donations—Mrs Kerr 20/Mrs Shephard 5/-, Miss Davidson 2/-, Mr Williamson 2/6, W.H. S. 5/-, Anomymous 2/- P. T. \ /., and door money made a total of £26 16s. A meeting of ladies is to be held on Friday to decide on what to procure for the benefit of our soldiers. It has been arranged to hold a social every month during the winter in aid oi Red Cross Funds. Mi>ch credit is due to Mr Wilkins for the way m which he raked in 1 he dollars."
