COMMEMORATION AT • AKAROA.

SPECIAL SERVICES,

Special Mass was celebrated at St. Patrick's Church, Akaroa by the Rev. Father Stephen Bonetto yesterday morning in commemoration of Anzac Day.

At St. Peter's Church the Rev. A. H. Julius .officiated at a celebration of the Holy Communion at 8 a.m. and at the special memorial service again at 11 a.m. A special collect was said and special prayers used at both services. At the 11 a.m. service the hymns "Brief life is here our portion" and "Lord God arise to lead -forth those who march to war" were sang besides special psalms. At the conclusion of the service the National Anthem was sung.

The Rev. A. H. Julius also conducted the same memorial service at Wainui, French Farm and Duvauchelle.
