CAPTURE OF TREBIZOND.
GARRISON'B LINES OF
PETROGRAD, April 19 The Tnrkieh garrison at Trebteond and field army of about 50,000 have two possible lines of retreat. The first is westward to Kiresun 65 miles along the Black Sea coast, and the second southward by Ruel to Gernu , sohana, thence to Erginghan. There is mountainous country on the line of retreat welt adapted fnr defence. The seaward defences of Trebizond were eepeoially strong, and included power fa naval guns in concrete emplacements.
The "Tageblatt" says general Polivanoff has been appointed to Commander in Chief of the Russian army on tht south west front at Strypa. •
