HOLDERS.

The annual meeting of householders of the Akaroa Distriot High School was held at the eohool last evening, Mr J. R. Newton, chairman, presiding

A motion of sympathy with the family of the late Mr Sweet was passed and the meeting adjourned for fifteen minutes on account of his death.

After the adjournment His Worship the Mayor was voted to the chair. There were twenty four householders present. Tbe following committee was eleoted for the ensuing year :—Messrs J. R. Newton, J. S. Dodds, E. Noonan, 0. W. Leete, B. W. Henning, Rev A. H Julius, and Rev. J. W. Hayward.

At a subsequent meeting of the committee Mr J. R. Newton was elected chairman.
