LAKE COLERIDGE SCHEME,
Mr L. Birks, Electrical engineer waited on the Wairewa County Council last week in connection with the Lake Coleridge Scheme, He assured the Council that the current could be brought down to Little River within seven months and that the Peninsula would be supplied before Timaru. The difficsulty the Government had to face was the shortage of j copper. SALE OF PROPERTY. Mr S. Barclay, of Little River has sold his property to Mr Leon Breitmeyer, who takes possession at the end of the month. Mr Barclay intends taking up land in the North Island. STOCK SALE. At Messrs. H. Matson and Co's yards on Tuesday there was a very small yarding, both of sheep and cattle and a small attendance Bidding was not keen and prices were much below normal.
