PRESENTATION FROM PUPILS AND EX-PUPILS.

The pupils and ex-pupils of the Akaroa District High School made a presentation to Mr Gray at the New School yesterday afternoon. The members of the committee and their wives were present and Mrs C. Hall entertained those present at the after noon tea.

Mr C. Hall, headmaster of the school presided. Miss Grace Newton, on behalf of the pupils and ex-pupils presented Mr Gray with a' complete edition of Sir Walter Scott's novels and in doing so expressed regret at Mr Gray's departure.- Mr W. Jacobson also spoke on behalf of the ex-pupils of the school.

Mr Gray thanked his pupils for their handsome presentation and would look forward to meeting many of his old pupils in Egypt.

The Rev. J. W. Hayward spoke on behalf of the school committee and expressed the appreciation the Committee felt for Mr Gray's work in the High School
