SPECIAL MEETING

A special meeting of the Wairewa County Council, convened by the chairman, was held at Little River on Tuesday Present—Messrs John F. Buchanan, (chairman), T. Feather, T. Thompson, J. 0. 0. Gebbie and W. F Parkinson.

The chairman stated that he had convened the meeting to consider the Government recruiting scheme, as the matter was Dot finally arranged at the last meeting of the Council.

It was decided that the Government proposal that the Council should form itself into a recruiting committee and do its best to obtain recruits within the county should be agreed to. It was decided that the county should be divided into groups or ridings, and that Mepsrs Thompson and Coop should be appointed to canvass the Little River riding, Messrs T. Feather and T. Quealy tbe Kmloeh riding, and. Messrs W..F. Parkinson and J. 0. 0. Gebbie the Kaituna riding.
