The final meeting of the Peninsula War Funds Appeal was held at the Hill Top Hotel on Tuesday, when there were present Messrs J. D. Bruce (Chairman), W. H. Montgomery, Geo. Armstrong, J. F. meeting was called to decide how the funds raised by the appeal should be divided among the different patriotic funds. Mr E. Hay moved the notice of motion' standing in his name I "That after paying the quotas of the three Counties and the Akaroa Borough into the Canterbury Patriotic Fund, the balance raised by Sub-committees during the appeal bo refunded to those committees to administer and that the Peninsula War Funds Appeal Committee be disbanded. The motion-was seconded by Mr J. C. C\ Gebbie. A balance sheet showing the statement of accounts was read and Mr Montgomery proposed that subject to the accounts befing audited they be passed for for payment. Seconded by Mr W. Williams and carried. Mr Montgomery moved the accounts as per quota be paid to the treasurer of the Patriotic Fluids, Christchurch, provided the quota was accepted by the other Counties, and districts affected. The chairman ruled Mr Montgomery's motion out of order as the committee have already fixed its quota'and this cannot without notice of motion be rescinded. It was agreed to appoint two [delegates from each county present to discuss the point of 'difference m committee and report. The following report was arriI ved at:—That the quota paid j into the Patriotic Fund be £7304 l made up as follows : s : ' i Akaroa County '.. £3855 Wairewa County .. £2233 Mt. Herbert County \ .
