COMFORTS FOR THE MEN
On Wednesday afternoon a most successful garden party was held at. Blyth Cliff, the Mayor's residence, when gifts were rereceived for the men in the trenches. >A tremendous number of comforts were, received and in 'addition £li in money. M me . Etevenneau, one of < the two surviving emigrants who came to Akaroa'" in 1840 in the famed Comte de Paris was one of the guests, bringing 'a gift .for the boys in the trenches.
