A meeting &i this Board was beld on Saturday. Present—Messrs G. Armstrong (chairman), W. W. Williams, W. D. Maophail, R. A, Pott;grew and D. McKay. LOBS OP A monsß. Mr W Shadbolt waited on the Board in connection with the claim

of Robert Carrie for £40 damage for borse killed and £8 repairs, etc.

The horse was not a sound one, as his hip bad been knocked down, and be had to have a round shoe. Tbe dray was filled too full for tbe horse, and he pulled back and went over tbe bank.

Tbe chairman moved the matter be held over for a month till tbe Board got an opinion from their solicitors, Seconded by Mr Williams and carried. CORRESPONDENCE. From the Wairewa County Council re Whakamoa road. Tbe letter was received.

From the Under secretary to effect tbat the Minister of Internal Affairs was willing to change the name German Bay to Takamatua, and asking the resolution in the matter be forwarded.

Mr Williams moved that the name of the Bay be Takamatua. '■

Seoonded by Mr Pettigrew and carried.

From St. Peter's Cemetery Board, asking tbe Board to sell metal on Buckiand's road or allow the Cemetery Board to take metal out of th 9 Board's quarry. The Cemetery Board wanted 100 yards.

Mr Pettigrew moved the Anglican Cemetery Board be allowed to quarry out 100 yds cf metal.

Seconded by Mr Williams and carried.

The statutory motion re authority to operate on tbe Bank was passed; Mr D. Barwiok applied for the posi tion on tbe Board under Mr Daok

Mr Williams moved applications be called for a surfaceman to be in by next meeting.

Seoonded by Mr McKay and carried. foremen's report. Tbe foremen's reports for the last two months were read. W- Sbsdbolt reports: Since last meeting I finished blinding the Gough's Bay road. I knocked off on tbe 21st January to go grass seeding, and will be starting work again next Monday.

The Chairman asked me to report on R, Carrie's horse that got killed at tbe crusher when tbe accident happened. I was away at the time getting water for tbe crusher and left Currie in charge of the drays to see that they were properly filled and R. Shadbolt was to do tbe driving —-W. Shadbolt.

Since last meeting I have finished binding the Hickory road and also repaired tbe broken ' deckings on Narbey's bridge on Long 'Bay road and I am now binding the metal on Gough's Bay road. January 1. Amos Arnold reports: Since last meeting have been working on top of Bossu road cleaning water tables that were blocked on the lower end of Bosau, taking up pipe culvert and cleaning same, lengthening culvert, building stone wall and taking points off. Also rak ing up loose metal out of water table and putting on one aide, olearing thistles off the side of tbe valley road. We are now lengthening tbe culvert by Mr Conway's place. February 10. Have been working on lower part of Bossu road by Mr Conway's, putting in a pipe culvert as tbe decking was no good to use again and length enjng same apd widening road. Also repairing culvert pn Jubilee road and removing stones out of road whioh crop dp, cleaning water tables where they are blocked up, and seeing to outlets and culverts. We have been working on main road at a bad point - and are now working on Jubilee road.

Since last meeting I have finished Okain's Bay road and took two posts out of Paper's Valley and filled three points up on the outsides on the new Pigeon Bay road and J am vow work ing at tbe Robinson's Bay wbarf road metaling. I hereby apply for leave to go grass Dao*. FINANCE REPORT Dr balauce £627 0a 64, accounts presented MB is lid -£870 Us sd, cash in band £21—£649 14s 2d.

Mr .Barker's offer of 2s 6d for wal nut tree opposite his reeidenoe was accepted.

The chairman moved a vote of con dolence be sent to Mr G. Cbeckley in the loss of bis wife. Mr Cheokley bad done a great deal of work for the Board, and, all sympathized with him io his loss

Seoonded by Mr Williams and oar ried, all members standing.

Mr Williams said Mould's road at Robinson's Bay was done some time ago with the understanding that the screenings should be put on when tbe drays were bandy. The' drays were now iv Robinson's Bay. He moved the screenings be put on after tbe other road wap fixed up.. Seconded by Mr Msopbail and carried.

Mr Williams drew attention to the amount of loose metal in the side channels up the old Akaroa road. It should be raked up in tbe oentre.

Mr Pettigrew said that it would be a good plan to rake tbe metal into the middle of the road and blind it before the winter set in.

Mr T. W, Wilkins waited on the Board re tha Palgueri road deviation, and said that there 900 a difficulty about- signatures in connection with tbe Lelievre estate as two sons were at the front. The rest of the deviation could be fixed up. It was resolved that the first part of the deviation be parried out. The meeting then adjourned to, March 11. '
