PRESENTATION TO GUNNER

The residents of Leßon's met in the Hall on Friday eveniDg last at a social and dance to bid farewell to Gunner J J Grotty, who is home on final leave During tbe evening Mr F. Marsb, on behalf of the residents, presented Gunner J J Orotty with a wristlet watcb suitably inscribed, at tbe same time wishing him a nafe and glorious return to good old New Zea laaci, Mrs W. G Dalgiiah affixing it to his wrist. Tbe recipient suitably responded. Songs were given by the Misses 0 Barker, E Petfcersen, E Harris, and Ivy Marsh. Mr D McKay danced tbe sailor's hornpipe to the accompaniment of piper Gibson on the bagpipes. Piper Gibson also gave a selection on the bagpipes, which ter minated a very pleasant evening.
