D Bruce, of Akaroa He has been missing since Angus* 27*n, and is now reponed dead He left in tbe Wellington Mourned RiHes with the Fourth Reinforcements. He was born in Akaroa, ana educated at tbe Akaroa High School Since leaving r-chool he bas been farming up in tbe Wnnganui district with his elder brother, John Bruce. He was 27 years of age, and very popular in and about Akaroa. Much sympathy is felt with bis relatives in their lo«s and the long delay before the official report has been given.
