AKAROA BOROUGH COUNCIL.
A special meeting of the Council waa held last night to oonsider the eleotric light ques. tion. Present—Crs Munro (oliairman), Leete. Cantrell, Henning, Williams. Fyfe and Noonan.
Correspondence was received from the city electrical engineer with a report on Turnbull and Jones' engine, and also a letter from Turnbull and Jones offering the engine for £-25.
It was resolved that Messrs Turnbull and Jones- ofler be not aooepted, and tbat a letter of thanks be cent to Mr Stark for his trouble in tbe matter.

Mr Bruoe, the Akaroa County Chairman, waited on the Council and offered the County Counoil's engine with the man in charge to tbe Borough for the eleotrio light and said tbe charge made would be aB reasonable as possible. Tho County Counoil'a offer was accepted with thanks.
