A general meeting of tbe Little j River branch of the Peninsula War , Funds Appeal was held on Tuesday. ■ Present ~ Messrs J. F. Buchanan i (r.hairman), A. V. Hutchinson, T. Internal Affairs } wrote agreeing to postponing the j drawing of raffles to Jannary 20 J This will enable tbe committee to J continue rafflns up to 8 p.m or later j on January 13 ] It was reported that the cake pre- I rented hy Miss Mary Wright was won • by Mr J Wright, of Te Oka, correct ] weight 9J'tH, and netted £1 1(K ] Mr Buchanan offared a sheep and Mr Lewthwaite a lamb for 'he weight- ] guessing competitions for the fete. L It was resolved to ask Port Levy, G'bbie's Valley and Kaituna each to I run a stall on January 12 J It was decided to hold an auction of stock from 12 30 to 3pm., Messrs J McQueen and W Thompson taking charge of same. Mr Harris offered a pnddock for accommodation of stock. It was re-"olvtd to ask Messrs H Matson and Co for the of their . yards for the stock sale.
