On Wednesday last a sale of th»lr ■ ork, together with other articles suitable for Christmas proems was held in Mr D Tiiaard)s garden and the sum of £20 was raised. The garden pre ented a pretty scene, tho trees being decorated with fl«gs and streamers. A well laden Christmas tree waß in tbe centre and round it were ranged the various stalls for produce, work, soft" drinks, raspberries and cream, sweets and afternoon tea. Guessing competitions, pinning on tbe donkey's tail and a whirligig which was quite new to the young people here, but said by the older people to b» common nt the fairs in the Old '''ountro, kept the children in amnspmennt. Great orndit is due to the i'ld'es who worked j>o hard to m-iha the Bivle a suaasHs.
