EXECUTIONS CARRIED OUT
Paris, December 16
An oflioial statement pays that dur ing the war 1025 people have been arrested in France for espionage in the military zone and 55 executed. 730 were arrested behind the military zone and nine executed.

k British officer sfcateg that slaughter inflicted on the Bulgarians was " indescribable." " The Bui gaiians," he says,- "were evidently forced to adopt German tactics. They attacked in seven dense waves over a two hundred metre front. The Allies, on the first day, lacked artillery, but on the second day they brought up numbers of French seventy fives, and tbe Bulgarians were mowed down wave after wave. Since then tbe Bulgarians have not attacked in close formation. During tbe first week the Allies retreated twenty two kilometres, carrying off their food and war material. Halonica is now trans formed into ao impregnable fortress under the protection of the fleet , "
