PENINSULA WAR FUNDS APPEAL.

_-UB COMMITTEE MEETING

A meeting of the Sports Committee of Peninsula War Funds Appeal, Wairewa and Mt. Herbert Branch was held on Sanirday last in the Library, Mr. J. F. Buchanan presiding to discuss the Boxiujj Day arrangements. An apology for absence wa3 received from Messrs T Williams and A. V. Hutchinson.

It was resolved to hold the .follow ing sideshows. —Hoopla (Messrs 8. Birdling and E Samuels), Doodlum Buck (Vlr L Breitmeyer), Mock Court (Mr Baines). Tug of War, between teams representing Little River, K-»i tuna, Maoris, Okute, Puaba, Council. Railways and- all comers, Place Kick b'ys under 18, Sherlock Holme* Com petition (Mr A V Hutchinson), Pillow Fight (Mr A Radford), Coooanut Sby (Mr H French), Howling at Wickets, Throwing Cricket Balls and other competitions (Wairewa Cricket Club), Athletic Events (Messrs J Chapman, H Chapman, J McQueen), including gome championships, Nail Driving Competition (Mr S Barclay), Potato Race, Stepping Competition-Gentle men and Ladies (Mr J Humphrey), Children's Events (Messrs Gillman and Marlowe), Trying Pots, Collection of Maori Curios and Ornaments (Messrs W Radford, R Webb, ,S T Harris), Greasy Pig (Mr W. Thompson). (For this event a real live wild pig is being donated by Mr H Hutchinson of Porauui, so some fun is naturally anticipated). Sheep Guess ing (sheep donated by Mr J 0 Coop), Lamb Guessing (lamb donated by Mr S Barolay), Turkey Guessing (turkey donated by Mr T Thompson), Fish Pond Mr J Scouler). Maori Hakas and Poi Dances, Kaiser Bill (Mr. T Bran kin), Cheap Jack (Messrs F Fahey and FCoop), Post and Telegraph Office (Messrs A Young, J Humphreys. W The secretary was requested to ascertain the price of a band for tbe day. , , No charge will be made for admission to the Domain.
