A wpll-attended publio meeting was held in the French Farm schoolroom last Thursday evening, to elect a sub-committee in connection w'th the Carnival in aid of the Patriotic Fund which is to be held at Duvau.. ohelle early in January, The following were elected on tbe subcommittee*—Messrs P. Shadbolt, T Btewart J Wright, J. Rrocherie. E. Wright, L, Giddens, A* Wright, G. Wjight, and J. I Donovan (chairman). Mr J. Donovan was appointed to represent Frenob Fnrm on the General Committee.

It was deoided that instead of selling Queen of the Carnival ticket-*) in the bay, to collect tbe money by subscription list, the amount collected to be used to support the local representative in the Peninsula Soldiers' Queen contest.

The sum of £27 10s was collected in the room.

It was also deoided to canvass tbe district for promises of stock, produce or other saleable articles for the Carnival to be held at Duvauchelle. The subscription list will be cent in for publication when complete.
