PREDICTING HIS COMING END.
(London " Evening Standard " Special)
A part ef an extraordinary Latin prophesy made by Brother Johannes in the year 1600 is quoted in a reoent issue of the "Figaro." In deciphering the allegory it must be remembered that France is represented by a cock, England by a leopard, Russia by a white eagle, Germany by a black eagie. and Austria by the "other eagle," while the lamb stands for justice, mercy and truth, "Towards the year 2000 the antiCbrist will manifest himself, his army will surpass in numbers all that can be imagined, there will be Christians among bis legions, and there will be Mahommedans and savage soldiers among the defenders of the lamb.
BATTLE OF EAGLES
"For tbe first time the lamb will be all red. There will not be a single spot in the Christian world that will not be reT, and red will be in tbe heaven?, the earth, the waters and even the air, for blood will flow in tbe domains of tbe four elements at once.
"The black eagle will come from tbe country of Luther, will surprise the cock from another side, and will invade tbe country of the cock up to tbe middle of it.
"The white eagle coming from the north will surprise tbe black eagle and the 'other eagle,' and will invade tbe country of the anti Christ from one end to another.
"The black eagle will see himself forced to liberate the cock in order to fight the white eagle,' and the cook will pursue the black eagle into the country of the anti-Christ to keep the white eagle. RIVERS CROSSED OVER BODIES
"The battles fought up to then will be a? nothing compared to those which will tiike place iv tbe country of Luiher for tbe Seven Angela will to gwther pour in of iheiroensera on ibe impious earth, which signifies that the lamb will order the exter mination of tbe race of anti-Obrist.
"When the beaet sees that he is lost he will become furious, nod for many months the beak of the white eagle, the claws of the leopard, and the apui-8 of tbe cock will furiously strike at him.
"They will cross rivers over bodies of the slain, and these in places will change the course of the waters, They will bury only the men of noble families, tbe leading commandants and the princes, because to the carnage
mnde hy th« nruiie* will lie joined the wbo'es.ile d> a'i< of those wbo will die of hunger or the pp«--t. Tim anti Christ wili a<*k many tiniest for peace, but the Seven Angeip, who walk in front of the three animal* defpnding tho lamb, bnvfi declared tbafc victory will only be granted on the condition tbar. fch» anti Christ; bo crushed lite straw ob thq barn floor.
."The executors of the justice of Ibp lamb cannot stop fighting as long a? the antiCbrist possesses soldiers to fight against them.
KAISER TO DIE A MADMAN,
"That which makes the decrees of the lamb co implacable is that the anti Christ has pretended to be a fol lower of Christ and to act in his naaie, and if he does not perish the fruit of the Redeemer would be lost, and the doors of Hadeß would prevail against the Saviour."
"The fight which will take plats whore the anti Christ forges bis arms will not be in any way a human fight, (This may have reference to Efs n where the Krupp works are, and many authorities believe that the decisive battle may take place in Wesphalia); "The three animals defending the lamb will exterminate the las', army of the anti Christ, but they will be forced to erect on the battlefield a pyre as large as a city, for the bodies of the dead will change the aspeofc of the countryside as there will be mounds of tho slain.
"The anti Christ will lose his crown and will die in solitude and madness. His Empire will be divided into twenty-two states, but none of them will any longer possess fortresses, armies or vessels. (Curiously enough this number coincides with the number of the German States).
RUSSIA TO RULE TURKEY.
"The white eagle of the Order of St. Michael will drive the Crescent from Europe, and will instal himself at Constantinople.
"Then will begin an era of peace and prosperity for the earth, and there will be no more wars, each nation being governed according to its desires and living the rules of justice.
"There will no longer be Lutherans or , Schismties. The lamb will reign, and the supreme happiness of human' ity will begin "Happy will be those who, escaping the perils of that period, will be able to enjoy the fruit of the reign of the spirit and of the purging of humanity, which can only come after the defeat of the shti Christ."
