FLOODS IN WANGANUI.
Wanganui, July 21.
There has been heavy and continuous rain over the whole district for the last forty eight hours, which has brought down the biggeet floods since the record of 1914. The water is etill rising, The Wanganui east esplanade is covered with a continuous] stream of driftwood coming down. Tbe flood ehould reach its maximum about six o'clock to-night.
Tbe rain has stopped now, and no serious damage is yet reported.
