PENINSULA GOODS ACKNOW LEDGED,
The Mayoress of Akaroa (Mrs Geo. Armstrong), ba3 received the follow ing te.legrarn from bi3 Excellency the Governor, Lord Liverpool, ackoow ledging the comforts gent from Akaroa and the Bays for tba_N Z. Hospital ship: — "Thank you and all who have as sisted you very much for the generous contribution to the Hospital Ship. Received safely." Six C 1863 of goods went from Aka roa for the Hospital Ship, and these contained the Peninsula contribution.
Mr T. Lawrence, of Akaroa, very kindly did all tbe carting of the goods in Akaroa free of charge, while Mr G Piikington carried all tbe goods en hie cars free of cost Tba six cases were taken direct to Wellington by the s.s. Cygnet free of cost.
