OKAIN'S BA-y.

The monthly meeting of the Okain's Bay Eoad Board was held on June 12th. Present—Messrs J. R. Thacker (chairman), A. T. Mason, A. W. Coffin, and A. H. Melntosh.

The minutes of May meeting were read and confirmed.

Correspondence waa read—

From Minister o£ Internal Affairs ye contributions 60 Belgian Fund.

From Public Works r* consent of local bodice necenfaiy to transfer of roads and streets and closing same.

Prom Bank of New Zealand, Akaroa, enclosing.resolution re authority to.overdraw on Board's account. It was resolved that the Board be authorised to overdraw to the extent of £1100 if necessary Mr Melntosh reported that the grader was at work at Little Akaloa and doing satisfactory work. The motion moved last Board Day levying a general rate of £d in the £ for the year 1916.16 was duly confirmed.

It was arranged to inspect the Okain's jetty to guard against loi*e bolts, etc., also to improve some dao gerous parts on the Little Okain'e road.

Accounts amounting to £108 103 were passed for payment.
