Arrangements for the big Belgian swan drive to ba held on Lake Ellus mere on Saturday next, are now com plete, and with fine weather a big bag is bound to secured for tbe Belgians The organisation has been carried out in every detail, and all that is now re quired is a sufficient number of guns to shoot tbe swans as they are driven up tbe lake by the motor boats from Leeston.

It has been decided that tbe guns from Ghristchurch, and as far as Motukarara meet at Mr Nutt's bouse, Gebbie's Valley, and those from the Peninsula shall meet on Birdling's Flat at 10 o'clock in tbe morning. The different gangs will then be placed along tbe shores of tbe lake to phoot the swans as they come along in front of the boats

No protected game will be shot; or

ball cartridge used, and everything shot will be frozen for tbe Belgians AH those wishing to take part bave to report themselves at Birdljng's Flat at tbe time appointed. oufca are allowed, and no duck decojs are to be used. It is hoped that as far a* possible tbe wishes of tbe Acclimatisation Society will be complied with. The day should prove a most interesting one to those taking part, besides providing the Belgians with a large quantity of food.
