roa County Council are also helping in this big undertaking by heavily metail ing the Summit road in their district from the Hill Top to Long Bay road, and they now have only a mile to complete at the back of Robinson'e Bay, where there is a fine bush, a Govern ment ecenic reperve, The Counci nave epent over £200 per year on this metalling for the laefc two or three yuars, and in order to complete it are applying to the Government for a grant of £160 towards the completion of the metalling If this is granted, then the Peninsula end of this "road will be in thorough order for any traffic. We hope that before many years go by this Cbristchurch to Aka roa Summit road will be completed, and thus form a motor drive that will be second to none in New Zealand.
