TORPEDOED OFF LAND'S END. London, May 30 It is stated that sixteen of tbe orew of the Er.Map«, which was sunk off Land's End, are gfill mining. The captain believes that they will be picked up
The Efchiape was proceeding down the channel when it was surprised by ft ehot aeroaa her bows, and a submarine 300 ft Jong appeared. The Ethiape attempted to escape, but two sheJls were fired, and tbe orew given five miDutee in which to get the boats out. The Etbiape was then torpedoed and sank in five minutes. PORTUGUESE REPUBLIC
