The monthly meeting of the vlount Herbert County County Council wa3 hnld on Monday at Puaha. Presen — Messrs 0, Bradley (chairman), A. R Fleming, G Steele, L. M. Wilson J. Hunter, and J. A. Gallety.
A circular letter was received from Hon. J. Allen, Minister of Defence, regarding the allocation of monthly pnntributions to the Bplginm Fund.

Mr L M. Wilson gave notice of motion to strike rates for the ensuing year, viz, Port Levy Riding £d in th 9 £ and Port Lsvy Riding fd in the £.
.Owing to the numerous motor cars and cyolei now being used in the County, it was resolved to register in Ihe County.
Messrs A. R Fleming and L. M. Wilson were empowered to obtain a road grader of lighter make than the present one in use. It was decided to call tenders for quarrying and breaking metal at Purau and Bapaki.
The Clark reported thit he had col lected upwards' of £300 in cash and
kind for the Belgium Fuud
The Council voted the clerk an honorarium of £7 10a for bid work in collecting.
It was resolved to apply for the pur chase* of about 10 iioieg of Crown land resarve No. 62 for a workman's home and Daddook.
The financial statement showed a credit balunce aniouniog to £633 Is 6d
