A SHOOTING CASE.
Wellington, April 19. .In Rex v M'Leod, tho case where a shooting expert injured a member of bis audience in attempting to shoot tbe ash off a cigarette held in his mouth, the Court of Appeal held that prisoner was guilty of all the offences that bad been charged against him, namely, of. •'common assault," "as sault with actual bodily barm," and of "causing bodily harm." Under such circumstances, that if death had been caused thereby,-prisoner would have been guilty of manslaughter. [This telegram is referred to in j our locals.]
