LOSS OF TOBACCO.
A store at Liverpool containing 85 acres of floor space filled with bonded tobacco valued at £3,000,000 caught fire. It is believed that a quarter of a million damage was caused, Firemen fought the conflagration for twenty hours, and finally flooded the cellars from adjacent docks, £100 MATCH. London, April 11. In a matoh for £100 aside over 220 yards Applegarth defeated Donaldson by a yard at Salford Bridge Grounds in 22|- seconds.
