PICTURES FOR EASTER MONDAY.
FINE PROGRAMME SECURED,
I The management of Hayward'a Pictures j have secured a specially fine programme of films from the headquarters of Hayward'a Ltd. for exhibition at the Oddfellows' Hall lon Easter Monday nighs. The Star fiilm ' is entitled "At Handgrip with Death," a sensational Italian story, showing how the infatuation of a smuggler for a girl leads him to crime, and finding his ardour hope--1 less he stirs up jealousy against the maiden, and it is only in the nick of time that she is rescued fron a horrible death. The smuggler gains the fate he had intended for her . Another fine picture is one showing a series of studies of the city of Angiers, which show life in the east in its most typical and picturesque aspect A dramatio story is told by a picture in a film entitled a "Tommy's Stratagem," ,"A Hide for a Bride" and "The Hermit Crab" will be shown with other attractive films, JULIUS KNIGHT DRAMATIO CLUB. The Julius Knight Dramatic Club is making first appearanoe in Akaroa on Saturday fto-morrow) night at the Oddfellows' Hall. This amateur company has played at the Opera House, Christchurcb, with signal success, and were the means of providing a substantial amount for the military cooker Sfnt to our men In Egypt. The company will stage the amusing farce entitled 'Browne with an E," a drama entitled " A Daughter of Belgium," an incident of the present war, and a olever comedy " Domestic Difficulties." The popularity of the Company in Christ--church should ensure a reiuly support at Akaroa during the holidays. The company will al3O give a grand sacred conaert on Sunday evening.
