MT. HERBERT COUNTY COUNCIL.

The monthly meeting of the Mount Herbert County Council took place on Monday at the County Chambers, Purau. Present— Messrs Orton Bradley (chairman), G. Steel, L M Wilson, Q.C Manson, J Hunter, J A Gellety, and R Allen. The chairman reported that he had visited all the plantations and found them doing well. He had selected several other plots that could be planted this winter with advantage if the Council gave him permission to do so.

The chairman was than ed for the trouble ■ he had taken in the matter, and permission was given for additional planting. It was resolyed to re deck the bridge at Teddington. The clerk reported that the acquisition of the land at Teddington for a workman's cottage and pound had advanced another step, and would soon be gazetted He had only been able to devote one day to collecting for the Belgian Fund, and had collected er been promised upwards of £200The clerk was urged to complete collecting as soon a" possible.
