ATTEMPT ON DOVER.
London, January 12. Two submarines endeavoured to nter Dover Harbour, but the batteries epulsed them.
It is reported that both were sunk, Cha attack was made in darkness. the searchlights, which are eontinislly placing on the entrance, re ealed the submarines, and the big ;una behind Dover Castle fired twice n intervals'o£ ten minutes. Directly iffcer they had fired, searchlighs from logtiie mrcraft swept the skies, but bey disappeared in half an hour.
There are many rumours of aifships icing seen over the Channel.
