BIG ENTRY OK TAT CATTLE,
The monthly stock <&lewas hold atDuvau chelle on Friday, when there was a good attendance, including a number of tat cattle buyers. The yarding was a smaller one than usual, very few store cattle coming forward. The total yarding was 280 head, oampared with 440 head at the December sale and 500 head at the January sale 1914. The yftrdinß consisted chiefly of fat and forward cattle, Practically two races of the yards were taken up with fat cattle, 104 head being yarded, compared with 56 bead In Deoemher and 58 head in .Tannery, 1914. The sale of fat cattle is becoming an important one at the Dnvauchelle yards, and ehould the entry oontinne to be a heavy one will attract more Christchurch buyers. This would rave the farmers tho trouble of taking their Btock to Cbristohurch nnd, if they can obtain the relative value at the Duvauchelle yarde, after dpducting the cost of transit to Addincton, tbn f*t cattle snle w>ll lv an important one Bsnks Peninsula entries of fo< cattle form the greitei- part of the A-Mington fat cattle market now, and a= yeara advance the importance of fat cattle raising on Bunks Peninsula is going to become greater. Fri day's sale is a record sal« of fat cattle or Bankß Peninsula. The fat catMe opened briskly, but declined and then brightened up •gain" towards the end of the sale. The paisings were fairly heavy, hut most of those pasted were sold after the fa'e.
