Tay lor) pointed out that tbe balance of tbe contract money due to tbe builders and tbe payment of tbe architect and other accounts would dispose of tbe credit, and it would leave nothing for the improvement of tbe vicarage grounds. presf nt, as funds for the present were not available.

It was decided, on the suggestion of the vicar, to toll the church bell at noon every week day during tbe war as a reminder of tbe titanic struggle in Europe and the terrible loss of life among tbe allied forces.

Permission was given Mr G. W. Thomas to plant the bank in front of 'he church with bulbs, kindly donated for tbe purpose by tbe Hon. R. Heaton Rhodes.

I A vote of thanks was passed to Mr W, H. Henning for making a present of two dozen prayer and hymn books for general use in the church. Miss H. Julius was also thanked for working two new book markers for. tbe church.

The question of building the parishroom was discussed fully, an! it was decided to have a plan drawn and submitted to a meeting of tbe veetry, to be held before tbe end of the month. The parish room will pro bably stand on the vicarage grounds just below tbe Akaroa. District High School, and will conrdit of a main hall, 26ft. x 40ft., with cloak rooms in front and a lean to at the back.
